I came to Urban Roots for a team lunch, and it was the perfect place to meet, mingle, and grub together! My boss ordered All the Smoke for the table, which came with four sides. We ordered the corn bread, mac and cheese, collard greens with ham, and summer succotash. The food was delicious, and my favorites were the pork belly burnt ends and cheddarwurst. It was literally oozing with cheese! We also ordered a round of beers. The Hell (Lager) was crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink. Staff gave great recommendations, which I appreciated. I was interested in something on draft rather than can. We ate outside and the space is perfect for groups of all sizes. I highly recommend if you work or live in downtown and are looking to treat your team, family, or friends out!

Food was almost perfect. I think they need to salt their brisket more because it was tender and smoky but it was bland. Most of their items were good. Service and vibe of the place was also very good! Will definitely come back!

This place is great!!! I used to come and just have beer and be sad there was nothing vegan. But now they have a vegan burger! Yay. Not only that but the staff here are so flippin nice and helpful. Like for real so nice. They go out of their way to just be cool. Customer service is a talent and these guys got it. Oh and I hear their BBQ meat is on point (they even ask if you want it lean, or fatty) and the beer is FINE. So go support a local spot that cooks up bangin grub and tasty beer

Urban Roots is a great place to hang with friends, whether it's a small group or a larger group. They have plenty of seating and their fast casual service makes it easy to find a spot and send someone up to order. They have indoor and outdoor seating and in the summer heat the misters are on full blast to counteract the heat. They have a lot of great beer on tap, including some collaborations and there's always something new to try. They have bbq available for purchase and self serve bbq sauce is available by the soda dispensers. There is a house sauce, a sweet sauce and a mustard sauce, they're all good, but we wish there was a hot version. We ended up ordering a pulled pork meal that came with two sides, cornbread and a cinnamon butter and we chose the salad and mac and cheese as our sides. We also ordered burnt ends, brisket and some drinks. The beer is always cold, fresh and delicious. The food came out warm, but not right off the bbq hot. The burnt ends were my favorite, but some pieces were chewier than I'd expect- I love it when it's a melt in your mouth experience. The brisket was good, and I tried dipping it in their sauces as well as it on it's own. The pulled pork was a bit dry and we ended up dousing it in the house bbq sauce, which improved it a lot. The salad was underwhelming, but I was really craving some greens with the meat- I probably would go for a different side in the future. The mac and cheese was creamy and saucy and they used curly noodles that were tasty. We ended up buying pineapple/vanilla swirl soft serve for dessert and they even offered rainbow sprinkles. This was a fun dessert. On my next visit I'd be interested in trying some of the sandwich or burger options
